Base Ingredient - Lupin Meal Toasted
Dosage: 40% max.
The lupine plant is part of the legume family and produces seeds/beans, just like the soybean plant. The cleaned, peeled and crushed seeds are made into lupine meal. It is a yellow meal with a characteristic scent and taste. Our lupine meal is derived from the yellow lupine. Lupine meal is sometimes also referred to as bean meal. It contains approximately 8% fat and 40% high-quality protein, including essential amino acids, and is very high in fibre. Lupine meal and soybean flour are very similar. In the event that no soybean flour is available, lupine meal can be substituted without any problems and vice versa. What is not widely known, is that the nutrient pattern of lupine meal is much more suitable for the carp - in relation to nutrients and digestion - than the commonly used soybean flour.
